RACING has been delivered a pound for pound fillip.
With the inaugural Go Racing In Yorkshire Winter Festival starting at Wetherby racecourse on Boxing Day (Thursday, December 26) and incorporating four successive days’ racing over jumps at Wetherby, Catterick and Doncaster, a new report published by The Racecourse Association claims horseracing is Britain’s best value day out for sports fans.
The report, based on research conducted by Deloitte, concludes that racing consistently costs less than other major sports such as Twenty20 cricket, Premier League and Football League games, a round of golf and domestic rugby league.
