Teams primed for 2014 Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy

York Press: . .

WOODHOUSE Grange will travel to Elsecar and York will host Shepley in round one of the 2014 Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy.

The eight-team competition brings together the champions from the seven strongest cricket leagues in the county, plus the holders.

Sutton-on-Derwent-based Grange reached the final for the first time this year before losing to Huddersfield League side Hoylandswaine.

Woodhouse qualified again by winning the Hunters York & District Senior League premier division title by a record 115 points.

They will face South Yorkshire League winners Elsecar for the right to play Beckwithshaw, of the Aire-Wharfe League, or Central Yorkshire League champions Townville in the semi-finals.

York’s reward for a seventh successive Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League crown is a home tie with Shepley, of the Huddersfield League.

The winners will meet Bradford Leaguers Cleckheaton or holders Hoylandswaine in the last four. The first round fixtures must be played by June 8.

Round 1: Elsecar v Woodhouse Grange, York v Shepley, Beckwithshaw v Townville, Cleckheaton v Hoylandswaine.

Semi-finals: Cleckheaton or Hoylandswaine v York or Shepley, Elsecar or Woodhouse Grange v Beckwithshaw or Townville.
