FULFORD whitewashed Bootham ‘A’ in the final match of the year in the York Conservative Clubs’ Faber Shield Billiards League, writes Colin Robinson.

The 6-0 win consolidated Fulford’s third position in the table and they go into the Christmas break only five points adrift of the leaders.

Glen Mountain (31 break, unfinished), Wayne Puleston, Alan Reed (21 break), James Lee (20 break) and Bob Plant (20 break) were the winners to leave Bootham ‘A’ bottom of the table and without a win in their eight matches.

Bootham ‘B’ and Acomb are joint leaders with 28 points, while Fulford now have 23 points. Bootham ‘A’ have only amassed 11 points.

Fulford’s Terry Ward continues to lead in the Cameo Engraving highest break contest with his 63 break.

Ward has also had a 60 break, while Acomb’s Paul Holmes is the next best with a break of 40.

Acomb’s Richard Lillie heads the list in the Cameo Engraving player of the year standings with six wins in seven games.

Fulford’s Mountain has joined Bootham ‘B’ pair Tim Fillingham and Matt Smith in joint second place with five wins in their six games.
