This live event has finished
Selby digs in. Takes the next in two goes and it is now 8-7. Is the final going all the way?
Amazing comeback from Robertson in the Snooker final. The Aussies even beating us at that now.— @viewfromcrowd 08 December 2013
C'mon the thunder from down under #snooker— @Buttersstotch11 08 December 2013
Bad safety from Selby and Neil's got another one. It's 8-6 now. Mark's famous gritty qualities are going to be required now.
He's gone in off from a safety too and Robertson now leads 7-6. This is big trouble for Selby.
Selby has tightened up though and misses his own red to the middle on 22.
But he misses a black on 28. He is 55-0 ahead.
Robertson looks totally different compared to earlier. He is strutting round the table, and those long pots are all now finding their mark.
Selby somehow needs to find a way to arrest Robertson's dominance over the last six frames. But he has just slammed in another long red. He looks in the mood.
Another century break seals it. It is 6-6. A clearance of 132.
Well, the big comeback is on. Isn't it? From 5-1 and 6-3 behind, Robertson has got a chance to make it 6-6 going into the mid-session interval.
How will Selby recover from this if he loses this frame?
I think it's going to be a long night tonight... #final #snooker #ukchampionship— @Julia2688 08 December 2013
And now it's 5-3. More fluency, a break of 123, and we have got a game on our hands.
I wonder if Neil would want the session to end now, but it has and it resumes at 7pm. Still a long way to go in this one.
Neil's got a frame on the board, but he still hard work of it. It's 5-2 though, and he will hope to pinch the last before the end of this afternoon's session.
Neil Robertson slowly losing his final at the #UKChampionship. Selby calmly takes over in every frame. Impressive. #snooker— @wayne_inc 08 December 2013
Selby drops in a green and takes the frame. It's 5-1 now. Whatever happens the defending champ will take an advantage into the evening session.
Robertson just can't get a momentum. Crucial miss, could cost him another frame. #UKChampionship— @wilburious 08 December 2013
what a final #UKChampionship— @reesey0 08 December 2013
He has missed a yellow by such an extent, it cannoned off another ball. Selby pots it but the green looks safe. 11 ahead, 25 on the table.
Selby has let Robbo off the hook there - missing a long pink to the yellow pocket.
If he can capitalise, and go 4-2, that would be a major swing in this contest.
I can't believe he just missed that black. He's having one of those days... This is so bad. #UKChampionship— @Alyson_Lindley 08 December 2013
Robertson is looking distinctly rattled & needs to 'get his act together' or Selby will walk away with trophy, & the cheque. #ukchampionship— @JulietPurcell 08 December 2013
Robertson is missing too many balls at the moment and his long potting hasn't been anywhere near its normal standard.
Selby missed a red and, following a wonderful plant, Robertson needed to punish him.
He didn't. Will he get another chance?
Selby takes the frame and is now 4-1 ahead.
Break of 57 from Selby and Robertson needs a couple of snookers.
But he has missed a long blue. He's under a lot of pressure is Neil and it is showing.
After Neil misses another long pot, Selby puts one in and out of the middle. This is Neil's chance to get going.
Frame five has gone a bit tactical, and who can blame the two players? Big frame this.
Brilliant safety from Selby forces Robertson into a desperation shot to open the reds. But it is the defending champ who capitalises and he goes into the interval with a 3-1 lead.
Selby closing in on a third frame. He's 54-0 up in the fourth.
@WorldSnooker1 @BBCSnooker looks like we are in for a right treat today the way the boys a playing #snooker #UKChampionship— @GlennDJames 08 December 2013
Couple of brilliant shots by Selby here, heading for a 2-1 lead. #UKChampionship— @wilburious 08 December 2013
Decent tactical exchange there but it is Robertson who makes an error and Selby slams in a good red and will lead 2-1.
Loose safety from Neil and Selby makes 49 before a long red hits the jaws and stays out.
Oh well... A couple of good shots in there. Neil levels the match at 1 all. #UKChampionship #snooker— @Alyson_Lindley 08 December 2013
But, after Selby missed a long red, Robertson counter punches with a break of 63 and we are level at 1-1.
Has to play safe on 13.
Really nice safety game by both players so far #UKChampionship— @wilburious 08 December 2013
All those changes to the format and the final is still played out by the number 1 & 2 ranked players in the world.... #UKChampionship— @fruggy888 08 December 2013
A shot to nothing goes wrong for Selby and this is a good chance for Robertson to get and get settled into the match.
Emphatic start from Selby, though. A break of 130 giving him the first. What a start.
He ended last night with a ton and starts the final with one.
The first red is in...it's a belter from Robertson.

Not too long before we get under way in this final...
Greater minds than mine have been looking at this final. Here's what they think.
An organisation hoping for a few centuries today is Bluebell Wood - a children's hospice in Sheffield.
They are the official charity of World Snooker, who make a donation every time a player strikes a ton in the competition.
There have been 81 so far, and they have raised £10,368.
As you would imagine, Mark had a few things to say about his 147. Have a watch here.
First up, if you haven't seen Mark Selby's 147 at York yesterday then what is wrong with you?
You can right this wrong, however, by checking out the full frame - courtesy of World Snooker - by clicking the video above.
Unless you are a Ronnie O'Sullivan fan, this is the final everyone was hoping for.
The world number one, Robertson, against the defending champion and world number two Selby.
I personally can't wait for it all to get started.
