BARLBY were 2-1 winners over local rivals Brayton in division three of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning Football League.
After a goalless first half, Barlby finally broke the deadlock on 50 minutes with a goal from Steve Wilks.
Brayton levelled the scores a minute later when Luke Lambert headed home a Rob Guest cross.
With both sides pressing for the winner, Wilks struck his second to seal the points.
Bishopthorpe beat hosts York RI 4-1, the home side’s consolation goal coming from Gary Rylance.
Division four table-toppers Snaith saw their 100 per cent record end as they went down 4-2 at New Earswick.
The damage was done in the first half when the home side raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Tim Buckle and Dan Rogers, plus an own goal.
Chris Gilmartin pulled a goal back for Snaith early in the second period but Steve Plummer restored Earswick’s three-goal advantage before Snaith substitute Joe Lock netted to make it 4-2.
Drax hammered NUR 7-2 thanks to two goals apiece from James Barrett, Stuart Harrison and Jon Page, plus a strike by Alex Ward.
James O’Donnell and James Constable were the NUR marksmen.
