SECOND-PLACED Acomb moved to within a point of the summit with a 4-3 win over leaders Heworth in the York Conservative Clubs’ Slater Cup Snooker Pairs League.
The rivals shared the first four frames, with Heworth holding a 13-point aggregate advantage after a win for F Mallinson and M Robinson.
N Hodgson and C Richardson made it 3-2 and increased the lead to 22 points. However, in the last game, A Wader and L Hanson levelled the frame scores and overturned the aggregate by one point to win the match for Acomb.
Bootham took full advantage with a 6-1 victory over a depleted Fulford side, who have yet to win a match.
They went 2-0 up, with John Dawson making a 22 break in the second game. R Taylor and S Holmes won Fulford’s point on a respotted black.
