MANAGER Mitch Cook was delighted to see ruthless Pickering Town run riot in an 11-0 victory over Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Second from bottom Lincoln have a minus 92 goal difference and the Pikes are the fifth team to put eight or more goals past them in the Northern Counties East League premier division this season.

Despite the quality of the opposition, Cook was heartened to see his side “go to town” with three players bagging hat-tricks.

Josh Greening netted on ten minutes, 21 minutes and 82 minutes, while Joe Danby scored his treble in the 14th, 29th and 53rd minutes.

Jimmy Beadle struck four times in the second half – on 49, 57, 83 and 88 – and Lewis Taylor got in on the act in the 85th minute at Mill Lane.

Cook said: “We were obviously expected to win, but when that is the case you have got to win in a good manner and we did that.

“We were 4-0 up at half-time and I told the lads we needed to do a little bit better. They took that on board and went to town in the second half.

“It is unfortunate for Lincoln, but it is good to have three players scoring hat-tricks – that doesn’t happen often.

“They all needed goals so it was an ideal game for them. Hopefully they will kick on now.”

Leaders Tadcaster Albion won 1-0 at Armthorpe Welfare thanks to an own goal from Darren Mansaram on nine minutes. Welfare had a man sent off after the break.

A Danny Gray hat-trick proved the difference for Selby Town as they beat visitors Yorkshire Amateur 3-1 in division one.

Gray broke the deadlock three minutes before the break and, despite Jordan Hayes levelling a minute after the restart, the Robins striker settled the match with goals in the 71st and 81st minutes.

Knaresborough Town were 3-2 winners at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.

Harrogate Town crashed 3-0 at Solihull Moors in Conference North.

Former Tadcaster Albion striker Callum Ward denied Harrogate Railway Athletic a win in Evo-Stik League division one north.

Ward levelled for hosts Ossett Town after Rob Youhill, another Albion old boy, had opened the scoring for Railway on five minutes.

A brace apiece for Gary Bradshaw and Thomas Davie earned Scarborough Athletic a 4-2 win at Market Drayton Town in division one south.
