Darts: Val Mackenzie gives Crescent ‘B’ a flying start

CRESCENT ‘B’ edged to a 4-3 victory over Collingwood as the new season of the White Rose Ladies Darts League got under way.
Crescent won the first two games, with Val Mackenzie firing a ton in the pairs with Pat Hirst.
Collingwood took the next two before Jean Hussein and Liza Moore made the score 4-3.
Carlton Tavern lost 5-2 to Lord Nelson, while the Ebor were 4-3 losers at home to King William despite winning the first three games assisted by Maggie Adamson’s 135 in the four-hand.
William claimed the last four, with Carol Atkinson hitting 100 and Brenda Bainbridge a 127.
In division two, New Earswick Bowls were 5-2 winners over Slip Inn.
Derwent Arms lost 4-3 to Crescent ‘A’, while Clarence lost by the same scoreline to Mitre, whose tally included a ton by Shirley Waugh.
