Depleted Newport County have striker Christian Jolley back to face Minstermen
NEWPORT County will be without four players for their home match against York City.
The Exiles are missing groin-strain victims Aaron O’Connor and Max Porter, as well as Byron Anthony (broken leg) and Andy Sandell (foot).
Former AFC Wimbledon striker Christian Jolley, however, is back in contention having spent a month on the sidelines and midfielder Ryan Burge might be fit enough to figure in his first match of the campaign.
Newport, who were emphatically beaten 3-0 at Rochdale at the weekend, will be hoping to maintain a proud run of form at Rodney Parade, which has seen the South Wales side win seven and draw one of their last nine fixtures.
League Two high-fliers Morecambe are the only visiting team to taste victory against Justin Edinburgh’s men since March, securing a 3-2 triumph last month.
Having experimented with a 4-3-3 formation at Spotland, Edinburgh is likely to revert back to the 5-3-2 formation that had served the club well up until the weekend with five-goal leading marksman Chris Zebrowski expected to partner a recalled Conor Washington in attack.
The hosts, meanwhile, are likely to field four of the players tomorrow that featured during the last game between the two teams when City beat County 2-0 at Wembley in the FA Trophy final.
They are David Pipe, Ismail Yakubu, Andrew Hughes and Lee Minshull.
Midfielder Porter also played that day on the famous hallowed turf with Michael Ingham, Chris Smith, Daniel Parslow, Lanre Oyebanjo, Ashley Chambers and Jamal Fyfield the surviving City squad members from that memorable afternoon.
Newport (probable): Pidgeley, Pipe, James, Yakubu, Worley, Jones, Flynn, Minshull, Hughes, Zebrowski, Washington.
