A MASTERCLASS from Stephen Maguire ended Paul Davison’s hopes in the Indian Open.
The Pickering snooker professional found the 2004 York UK champion in top form when the pair met in New Delhi, the last 64 of the game’s newest ranking event.
Maguire hit breaks of 75, 83, 68 and 72 to win the match 4-1.
Davison had set up the Maguire match by successfully negotiating a wildcard clash with amateur Faisal Khan 4-1.
After the first two frames were shared, Davison took the advantage and made breaks of 76 and 46 to book his place against Maguire.
