Motorsport: Amy Williams rises to McRae occasion
11:20am Wednesday 9th October 2013 in Sport
PROSPEED rally pair Tony Jardine and co-driver Amy Williams finished second in class at the testing Colin McRae Forest Stages in Scotland.
The duo, driving with the York-based team, finished 12th overall out of the two-wheel drive cars.
Williams, an Olympic skeleton bobsleigh gold-medal winner, said: “This was the toughest challenge of the journey so far. I tried to remain calm, but inwardly I was on edge.”
The next challenge for Williams and Jardine is the Cambrian Rally this weekend in the North Wales forests.
ProSpeed will introduce a new car for the duo, the Mitsubishi Evo 9. Williams needs to complete this rally for her final signature, in order to make it to her ultimate goal of competing in Wales Rally GB.
