11:14am Wednesday 9th October 2013 in Sport
TERRY Temple was knocked out by two former world champions during the PDC’s latest Players Championship events in Dublin.
The Whitwell-on-the-Hill darts ace lost 6-1 to 1995 BDO world title winner Richie Burnett in the first competition.
He then succumbed 6-4 to 2008 Lakeside victor Mark Webster during the second tournament, having earlier edged out Mark Jones 6-5.
Temple remains on course, however, to qualify for the World Championships at Alexandra Palace.
A total of 16 places are available to the players ranked highest in the PDC ProTour Order of Merit outside of the world’s top 32 players and Temple is currently in possession of the 13th spot with seven qualifying events left to play.
