MAGNET’S Sandra Bruce will meet Tracey Farmeary or Michelle Britton in the final of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League individual competition tonight.

Bruce beat Cueball ‘A’s Faye Hawksby 2-1 in the semi-finals at Tramways last week and awaits the winner of the delayed last four tie between Cueball ‘B’s Farmeary and Britton, of Five Lions.

Hawksby took the first leg against Bruce, checking out on 19 after both players had missed chances at doubles.

Bruce replied with a 24-dart leg, checking out on double seven, and she also took a close deciding leg with a double five out shot after Hawksby missed double 11.

Farmeary will play Britton on tonight’s finals night after being given extra time to recover from a stay in hospital.

She did play in the semis of the pairs and the captain and vice-captain competition.

In the pairs, she teamed up daughter Natalie to face Lions duo Britton and Dawn Exton.

In the opening leg, Britton just missed a 112 checkout but Exton hit the double and then Britton secured the final spot.

The Lions pair will face Bruce and Denise Fowler, who were taken to the wire by Hawksby and Sue Smith.

The Magnet duo went 1-0 up after a ton at a vital moment was followed by a double four finish.

Hawksby then turned on the style, hitting the tons in the second leg before Smith closed on 68. In the decider, a 123 from Bruce and a double 16 out shot sealed the win.

Tracey Farmeary teamed up with Bev Harton to beat Marcia’s Di Moreland and Carol Perrett in the captain and vice-captain semis.

Farmeary fired a 140 and two tons, while also hitting double two to win the first leg and double 16 to take the second.

In the final they will take on Tramways pairing Sue Lowery and Jo Hodges after they edged past Cueball ‘A’s Hawksby and Chris Hayward. Lowery checked out on double 16 and then double top.

Farmeary was forced to pull out of the triples, so her daughter Lauren stepped in as a reserve to join Lynne Clapham and Tina Platt against club-mates Harton, Natalie Farmeary and Gina Whittaker.

Platt closed the first leg on six but Farmeary set up a decider by checking out on double 16. Platt and co failed to locate the double in the decider and Whittaker won it by hitting double four.

Lions trio Shona Benson, Jill Reed and Anne Bass made the final after a 2-0 victory over Marcia’s Moreland, Pat Cairns and Becky Thompson.

After a 117 score from Cairns in the first leg, Marcia let slip a lead and Benson won it with double two.

Benson hit a 120 to help her side catch up in the second leg and Bass’ double three shot put them into the final.

Lowery deputised for Tracey Farmeary in the drawn pairs with Marcia Grey’s Rosie Hattee, who hit a 171 to help beat Flossy Crampton of Magnet and Burton Club’s Linda Embleton.

They will meet Hawksby and Fowler, who disposed of Perrett and Cueball’s Linda Welch.
