Darts: 4-3 victory for Tramways over Corner Pin
8:00am Saturday 28th September 2013 in Sport
MARK Chamberlain rattled off ton-plus scores of 121, 140 and 125 to secure a 4-3 victory for Tramways ‘A’ over Corner Pin in the York Black Sheep Mixed Darts League.
Tramways took a 3-0 lead after winning the four-hand and both pairs matches before Cindy Roberts (113 checkout for 21 darts), Chris Barker (20-dart leg) and Matt Leather led the Corner Pin fightback. It was left to Chamberlain though to settle matters.
Tramways ‘B’ also enjoyed a 4-3 triumph against Railway Institute.
The efforts of Chris Bullen (2 x 100 in the pairs and 100, 140 and 100 in his individuals) and Sandra Bruce (100, 138 and 100) could not rescue Institute as Tramways had Chris Matthews hitting scores of 121, 100 in games of 22 and 25 darts.
The Mixed League will hold their summer season finals night at Tramways WMC tomorrow from 7.30pm. Presentations and a disco will take place after the games.
Order of play: Ladies’ individual final – Cindy Roberts (Corner Pin) v Sharon Neads (Tramways ‘B’); men’s Individual final – Mark Chamberlain (Tramways) v Jamie Alton (Tramways); mixed pairs final – Chris Bullen and Sandra Bruce (Railway Institute) v Paul Kennelly and Floss Crampton (Tramways ‘A’); blind pairs finals.
