Charity cricket match in memory of Phil Fisher
11:40am Wednesday 11th September 2013 in Sport
Sheriff Hutton Bridge are staging a charity cricket match in aid of York Against Cancer in memory of Phil Fisher on Sunday, starting at noon.
Following last season’s successful fixture, Yorkshire Academy will again provide the opposition and are likely to include a number of players who have represented Yorkshire at various levels.
The Bridge side will include Matthew Fisher who, on June 9, became the youngest player to play a competitive county cricket game, beating a 91-year old record.
He will be playing alongside his two brothers, Adam, who is Sheriff Hutton Bridge captain, and Mark, who was voted the league’s best representative player last year.
The usual hospitality will be on offer at Sheriff Hutton Bridge, where there is ample parking and picnic space.
