Knights hooker Jack Lee happy to stay with club
NEW Coaches’ Player of the Year Jack Lee has handed York City Knights a major boost by heading a raft of players committing for next season.
The 24-year-old hooker, who collected his award at the presentation evening, having also finished second in The Press Player of the Year standings, was expected to leave Huntington Stadium following the club’s relegation to Championship One, but has agreed new terms to stay.
Captain, and under-20s coach, James Ford also stays, as does half-back Jonny Presley.
Prop Jack Aldous and George Elliott are also on board, as are Kriss Brining, Sam Orange, Ryan Mallinder and U20s starlets Tyler Craig, Harry Carter, Tim Stubbs and Luke Tomlinson.
Lee, the Knights’ top try-scorer this year, has agreed to a fifth season. Sam Scott, who beat him to both the Players’ Player and The Press Player of the Year awards, is expected to leave.
