With just four results outstanding all the promotion places in the IT Sports Mixed Tennis League have now been decided.
Wigginton have completed their re-arranged matches in winning style to clinch the second promotion place in division three.
Chris Burnham and Sarah Blacker started the winning run against Sherburn before Ben Storey and Lorraine Waudby took over the mantle at Sutton-on-Derwent.
Andy Withers and Julie Noonan won 31 games for Wigginton in their final match against champions Stamford Bridge.
Heworth’s Jason May and Helen Larkin then won 27 games against York, who produced a solid team performance to take the points in their bid to avoid relegation.
David Lloyd are nervously awaiting the final result between Poppleton and York, which the latter have to win to avoid the drop.
The final two matches have decided the final placings in division five with Wigginton grabbing the second promotion spot after beating relegated York. Matt Waudby and Pauline Wregglesworth led the way with 27 games.
Wetherby Castlegarth won their final match against champions Fulford to avoid the drop on games difference. Alne will be relegated on games difference.
Promotion and relegation in division six has also been decided on games difference. Poppleton will be promoted on a games difference of 20 over Wilberfoss.
Details for the presentation night at David Lloyd on Wednesday, October 30, will be sent to clubs.
