TEN-MAN York City went down 3-2 at Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League Two.
The Minstermen were trailing 2-1 when substitute Ryan Bowman was sent off for an off-the-ball incident with Rovers' Tom Parkes in the 43rd minute.
However, City forward Ryan Jarvis grabbed his second of the match from the penalty spot on 64 minutes after Chris Smith was shoved by Parkes in the area.
Parity lasted only three minutes as John-Joe O'Toole fired a decisive third goal for the home side, who were second best for the majority of the game.
Earlier, Rovers profited from a defensive error to take a third-minute lead through David Clarkson, and the same player got the second on 33 minutes.
Jarvis pulled a goal back four minutes before the break, shortly before Bowman's departure.
