Advance tickets on sale for Trackkrod Rally Yorkshire
10:39am Wednesday 21st August 2013 in Sport
ADVANCE tickets are now on sale for the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire – the county’s biggest off-road motorsports event – and they have been held at 2012 prices.
Tickets take the form of ‘Privilege’ packs and allow rally fans access to all of the spectator stages on both days of competition, with closer parking at some, plus a full colour 48-page programme and souvenir pen.
Entry for up to four people costs £50 while packs are also available for twosomes, priced £30.
Ordinary tickets will also be available for each stage on the day, costing £15 per person with a ‘rover’ ticket, covering all stages on both days, costing £20 per person (all including programme).
Due to printing schedules and the inclusion of a comprehensive entry list, Privilege packs will not be posted out until Monday, September 23 and are limited to a first-come-first-served basis. The closing date for applications is Sunday, September 22.
All accompanied children under the age of 16 will be admitted free.
The rally is on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28.
Recommended places to watch are in Dalby at ‘Housedale’ and the famous ‘Woodyard’, a natural amphitheatre for spectators and includes refreshments and full commentary for both Friday and Saturday stages.
Low level lighting is being installed on the approach to the spectator areas as a safety measure while maintaining the special atmosphere created by night stages, which have become a rarity in domestic rallying.
Fans are still advised to bring a torch and warned that access may be difficult for those with limited mobility.
The ‘spectator area’ in Cropton Forest is again near the campsite at Spiers House, while new for 2013 is a spectator area on the Langdale stage – the rally’s most north-easterly – at ‘Barley Carr’.
This year’s event runs from the newly refurbished Pickering Showground, which provides ideal rally headquarters with start and finish venues all in the one location with easy access to all North Yorkshire forest stages.
The evening/night stage in Dalby Forest includes cars competing in the Historic Cup, British Rally Championship Challenge, Trackrod Rally Yorkshire (MSA British Rally Championship) and the Armstrong Massey Landrover Challenge.
The Historic competitors head up Saturday’s action in Cropton Forest at 8.30am until around 4.30pm. The REIS Get Connected BTRDA Rally Championship runners tackle their opening stage at Cropton with a bumper entry expected.
Dalby in daylight begins at 11am with the various sections of field thundering through until around 4.45pm.
The new ‘Barley Carr’ spectating area at Langdale starts with the Historics at 11.20am with competitors continue to pass through to around 6pm.
Spectators are advised to give themselves plenty of time to get from where cars are parked to the spectating areas.
