Pickering Town dumped out of FA Cup at Dunston UTS

PICKERING Town bowed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle after losing 4-1 at Dunston UTS.
Lewis Taylor gave the Pikes a 16th minute lead in the extra preliminary round tie, but Andrew Bulford levelled three minutes before the break. Bulford completed his hat-trick with strikes in the 51st and 65th minutes before Chris Swailes scored with eight minutes remaining.
Tadcaster Albion will host Bishop Auckland in a replay tomorrow night after Friday’s goalless draw.
Selby Town kick-started their Northern Counties East League division one campaign with a 4-3 home win over Appleby Frodingham.
The Robins trailed 2-1 at the break, with Nathan Kamara scoring in the 31st minute, but Tom Owen levelled on 57 minutes and Mick Jones edged them in front five minutes later.
Kamara’s second goal on 79 minutes gave the home side a cushion, which Appleby tested with a 90th-minute third goal.
Knaresborough Town drew 2-2 with Cleethorpes Town, conceding a late penalty after two second half goals from Steve Bromley had put them in control.
Ashley Worsfold netted twice as Harrogate Town won 2-1 at Oxford City on day one of the Conference North season.
Harrogate Railway opened their Evo-Stik League division one north campaign with a 1-0 home defeat by Salford City. In division one south, newly-promoted Scarborough Athletic were held to a 1-1 draw at Kidsgrove after Andrew Milne had given them a 20th-minute lead.
