CLIFFE Football Club reserves have fired in eight goals in their opening two B&P Sports Selby Cup ties.
The Cliffe second string opened their campaign with a 5-4 win over Riccall United reserves with goals from Nigel Horner (2), Andy Kirkham, James Grundy and Ian Beckram, from the penalty spot.
They were then edged out 4-3 by Hensall & Kellington with two goals from Tom Dunning, one from the penalty spot, and another Horner strike.
The tie between Cliffe firsts and Tadcaster Town was ruled a 0-0 draw after the sides were unable to rearrange their game from last Friday, which was cancelled by Town.
On Saturday, Cliffe face Drax in the cup, while the reserves take on Goole United reserves.
