OLD Malton St Mary’s Football Club have been awarded a £5,000 Grow The Game grant from the Football Foundation.

The grant will allow the Ryedale club to start up new junior teams over the next three years, while also sending new coaches on Football Association courses.

Grow The Game aims to increase participation in the national game by helping clubs to provide opportunities.

The programme is delivered in partnership with all of the 46 County FAs and funded by The FA.

James Rodgers, Old Malton St Mary’s chairman, said: “We are delighted to receive this grant from the Football Foundation.

“Thanks to their awarding of the grant we will now be able to secure the future of the club and continue our development plan of making football accessible to all children.”
