Easingwold Town are heading for the drop after a 4-2 home defeat against Riccall United in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division.

Second-from-bottom Town let slip a 2-1 half-time lead, given to them by two Steve Aconley goals after Gary Collier had put Riccall in front.

After the break, the visitors responded through Liam Olsen, an own goal and a second of the game for Collier.

Defeat at Huntington tonight will see Easingwold join Hamilton Panthers in division one next season. Even a victory will still leave them only a point above St John, who have four games to play.

Selby RSSC are guaranteed another season in the top flight after a Louis Blackwell hat-trick, including the last-minute winner, turned a two-goal deficit at York St John into a 3-2 win.

Champions Dunnington completed their away fixtures with a 3-0 win at Terrington.

Matty Wain hit the opener from the penalty spot before Jimmy Wilmoth doubled the lead with a tap-in. A Kieran O’Brien header completed the scoring. White Horse narrowly missed out on promotion from division one, but they finished the season in style with an 8-0 victory over Wilberfoss.

John Marshall took his tally for the season to 15 with four goals, while the remainder came from Chris Thompson, John Langrick (2) and Len Hall.

The battle for promotion in division three is hotting up as only one point now separates the four sides vying for the runners-up spot.

Sporting Knavesmire defeated champions F1 Racing 1-0, with Danny Smith’s goal firing Sporting into second place.

Barmby Moor failed to win away from home for the fourth game on the trot as they lost 4-2 to Civil Service, who are one of the sides still in the mix for promotion. James Windle hit his fourth treble of the season for Civil Service after Gareth Inness had given them an early lead with a penalty.

Elvington’s relegation was rubber-stamped as they lost 2-1 at home to Rufforth. Sam Martin hit the Harriers’ lone goal.
