F1 racing toward division two in wake of Barmby Moor triumph
10:42am Monday 18th March 2013 in Sport
F1 Racing took a major stride towards promotion from York Minster Engineering Football League division three with a 5-2 win over third-placed Barmby Moor.
The leaders now have a six-point cushion at the top of the table after a repeat of the previous week’s Junior Cup win over their promotion rivals.
F1 stormed into a three-goal lead before the break courtesy of a Neil Yeowart hat-trick, and a tenth straight league win was confirmed in the second period with a George Trifan brace. Bishop Wilton’s promotion hopes are faltering after they failed to win for the third game on the trot.
Despite leading through goals from John Nattrass and Charlie Bond they drew 2-2 at home to Civil Service, who salvaged a point with a Carl Barker strike and an own goal.
A goal in each half, the first from Ben Jones and the second from John Hayden, earned Ouseburn a 2-0 home win over Huby.
Crayke’s mini-revival ended as they lost 5-1 at home to Selby Olympia. James Robinson hit the only goal for the home side.
