‘Urgency’ is new key word for City full-back Jamal Fyfield

Jamal Fyfield
JAMAL Fyfield has been instructed to add “urgency” to his game by York City’s new manager Nigel Worthington.
The one-time Maidenhead left-back, who turns 24 tomorrow, is expected to line up in today’s home match with Port Vale after earning a recall under Worthington.
He had previously been frozen out by ex-boss Gary Mills but Worthington, a former left-back, has spotted potential in Fyfield.
The former Northern Ireland chief, though, has added that Fyfield needs to display more drive to prevent his progress in the game being further curtailed.
He said: “Jamal and I have had a little chat and I have thrown one word at him already – urgency. That’s in his head now.
“He has a lovely left foot and, if he can add urgency into his play and thinking, then he will be a very good player. “You can have the ability but, if there’s a lack of urgency, that can take away from that.
“We will keep working with him and then it’s a case of how much he takes on board and how much he wants to extend and push himself either with York City or to go higher up the League because there are definitely ingredients there to make a better player.”
Worthington also confirmed he has not written off Michael Coulson’s chances of still playing a part in the remainder of City’s season.
The former Barnsley and Grimsby forward is on his way back to fitness following the cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered during the 1-0 win at Accrington in mid-October.
Up to that point, he had netted five times in 16 outings following his summer switch from the Mariners.
That tally still places him only four goals behind top marksman Jason Walker and Worthington is mindful of his possible playing return during the crucial run-in to the end of the season.
The City boss said: “I had a chat with Michael the other day and he was very upbeat and is looking forward to next month.
“If he can get back playing by then, it will be fantastic to have somebody of his quality and ilk back in the group.”

We were losing playing his style of football and are still losing playing a different style of football, talk of wins coming if Mills had stated is naivety at its worst.
4-4-2 they said, bring back Reedy they said, Mills out they said...Be careful at you wish for.....
Sorry but as I've said before this squad is a conference group of players and only one man is responsible for leaving us with it.
Mr Gary Mills

I don't wana be all doom and gloom but today was awful long ball again and were just not created enough, the odd times we got it down on the ground we actually looked a bit better, but to be fair port vale were well organised and played well today, I'm starting to get very concerned, can't see where the next goal is coming from let alone the next win!
