Rich Corner wins stage three of York Open Darts Championship

YORK’S Rich Corner won stage three of the Streamline Taxis York Open Darts Championship at Huntington WMC.

Corner hit legs of 15, 19, 17 and 21 darts for an 80.91 three-dart average to beat Minster city rival John Quantock 5-2.

Quantock (77.93 average) included a 180 for 11 darts and a 180 for 16 darts in his two winning legs.

In the semi-finals, Corner (18, 104 finish for 18, 118 finish for 15 and 17) beat Lincolnshire’s Jamie Ellam, while York’s Quentin McMaster lost 4-1 to Quantock.

Stage four will be held at Huntington WMC today. Registration closes at 12.30pm for a 1pm start. The entry fee is £5, with £150 going to the stage winner.
