Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers hosted cross-country race

THIRSK and Sowerby Harriers hosted the recent North Yorkshire/South Durham cross-country race at Thirsk Flatts.
The club fielded two women’s teams.
Carol Morrison, Hilary Coventry and Nicola Booth recorded a combined time of 48 minutes and 27 seconds, while Christine Burn, Fran Jeffery – back in action after a lengthy injury – and Clair Gillan had a combined time of 55.54.
The men’s team of Stephan Tomaszewski, Merv Burn, Bryan Miller and Steve Scott posted a combined time of 57.12. Pat Kirby was first home in the V60 category, with Christine Burn second in the V55 and Rob Burn third in the V55 men’s section.
