Hockey: No spring in step for City of York ladies I

CITY of York ladies I were beaten 3-2 at home by Springfields I in the North Hockey League premier division.
The defeat saw Springfields draw level on points with sixth-placed York, who have a better goal difference.
There was no game for City of York II in the Yorkshire League premier division, but the thirds were in division three action, going down 3-2 at home to Halifax II.
City of York IV beat hosts Brigg II 2-0 in division five, while City of York V edged past Northallerton II 1-0 in division six Yorkshire.
Acomb I lost 3-2 at Halifax III in division three.
