12:13pm Monday 11th March 2013 in Sport
TADCASTER Albion toppled title-chasing Bridlington Town 1-0 in the Northern Counties East League premier division.
Paul Marshall’s men are the only team to keep Brid off the scoresheet this season and they won the Ings Lane clash thanks to a 73rd-minute goal from substitute Stuart Rice.
The fifth-placed Brewers, who have completed a league double over Brid, travel to Retford in the league tomorrow (7.45pm).
Pickering Town went down 2-1 at Scarborough Athletic despite taking the lead against their high-flying hosts.
Joe Danby put the Pikes in front in the 40th minute, but second-half goals from Matt Plummer and Tony Hackworth extended the home side’s unbeaten league run to 19 games.
Athletic travel to Long Eaton United in the third round of the League Cup tomorrow (7.45pm).
Selby Town’s game against Dinnington Town at Flaxley Road in division one was postponed, and the Robins will be hoping tomorrow’s game at home to third-placed Shirebrook will get the green light.
Harrogate Town’s eventful week ended in a 3-1 home defeat by Blue Square Bet North leaders Chester.
The Wetherby Roaders, playing their third game in five days, trailed 3-0 before Dominic Knowles pulled a goal back in the 75th minute.
Town are home to Bishop’s Stortford tomorrow (7.45pm).
Harrogate Railway Athletic came from behind to win 2-1 at bottom side Garforth Town in Evo-Stik League division one north.
Brett Mbalanda gave Garforth an eighth-minute lead, but Jesus Samuel Martin-Farina equalised on 37 minutes and Alex Hallam hit the winner 12 minutes from time.
Railway travel to Wakefield tomorrow (7.45pm).
