Probably the first serious competition that Michael Ingham will have had for years. It looks as though Nigel Worthington wants to go into games with a decent young goalkeeper on the bench.

Two excellent pieces of business.
.........That should keep "Ingy" on his toes, and JM has proved to be a solid and reliable asset

On a more sombre note, returning to previous positive comments regards our new manager (fully endorsed by me, with "reservations")
One of which is.....God Forbid !
But if we do return to the Confrence,
It' an absolute certainty NW......

WILL NOT be joining us.
CU all @ Wimbledon. Stay positive

Great news. Ingham has never had any serious competition e.g. Mimms, Musselwhite and Knight. He would have been dropped on many occasions in the non league otherwise, he's a lot more consistant nowadays though. McGrath news is also good news, he's a proper midfielder.

Good signing.

Will keep Ingham on his toes, never had any pressure on him to perform when Musselwhite was back up.

Can tell Worthington's a FL manager, we've desperately needed more than one GK option and he's brought it in after 3 days!

Gives us another option and will bring the best out of Ingham too.

Does that mean Ingham will get the
No1 shirt then?

Ingham never has the number 1 shirt, by choice. His best mate died at the age of 24, so his shirt number is in memory of him.

At last some real competition for Ingham and by all accounts bringing a new level of professionalism to the club. I like Mr Worthington already.

Good news this and lets hope he is no.1 and not ingham. Look at all theistakes he has made this season when we have been one up. We would have been safe by now. Mills was not astute enough to see it. NW seen it straight away coyr

I've seen more mistakes from Fyfield/Smith than Ingham that have cost us goals this season. I've seen Ingham save us several times when we've never looked like getting anything out of the game but a draw at best. That said Saturday was a reet howler and he does need some competition.

this is starting to get like a witch-hunt, suddenly now people are calling for Ingham to go?? alright he's made a few blunders, which keepers at league 2 level don't? but he's made some world class saves (that one at Gillingham was incredible).
keep it going Ingy, great servant and 100% the right man between the sticks to keep us up.

I've always though he could play at least a league higher, some of the saves he has made this year have been "massive point" savers and personally think we would be in a worse position than we are now without them.
He seems to divide opinion but i for one stick with him as number 1/24.

Ingham IS a class keeper and like everyone is human and errors do happen. He has served City well and is more reliable than some other players. expect him to keep his place and that the new guy will be on th bench. Getting first team experience does not necessarily mean playing but could lso mean being inolved and on the bench. I am a firm believer that competition is good so the new guy is ery welcome.

Hopefully he might gain the ability to command his area.
At least Chris Marples did.
Ingham often makes a 50/50 a 75/25 inthe strikers favour.
No ones bigger than the club, we hopefully have a good enough replacement when he blunders again. One fault Mr Mills never got to grips with.
