Warnock waits on Luke Varney ahead of game at Leicester City

STRIKER Luke Varney will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness to resume in the Leeds United attack at Leicester City tonight.

Varney was carried off the field on a stretcher in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Millwall after an accidental collision with team-mate and winning penalty crackshot Stephen Warnock.

Namesake and manager Neil Warnock said he was determined to try to keep faith with the same line-up for the fourth game at the King Power Stadium.

Added United’s manager of Varney: “He’s badly bruised.

“He’s had a lot of compression over the weekend, and Luke will want to play so if there is a chance he’ll play.

“I’d like to keep the same team if we can and leave it alone.”

While the East Midlands home of the Foxes has not proved a happy hunting-ground for United, last season they poached a win with an Adam Clayton goal.
