York City suffer 2-0 home defeat to Bradford City in npower League Two

YORK City's winless run stretched to 11 games as they lost 2-0 at home to Bradford City in npower League Two.

The sides were level at half-time and the Minstermen went close through Jason Walker and Matty Blair early in the second half at Bootham Crescent.

However, Bantams striker James Hanson, who was a threat throughout, netted with 13 minutes remaining, in front of 2,028 travelling fans.

As City pushed for an equaliser, Garry Thompson pounced on a slip by York defender Jack O'Connell to put the result beyond doubt on 86 minutes.

City are now 18th in the table, still four points above the drop zone with Plymouth and Wimbledon, who host Gary Mills' men next Saturday, in the bottom two spots.

Bristol Rovers moved above York with a 3-0 victory over Burton, while Aldershot are a point behind after a 1-1 draw with Gillingham.

Stick with Mills, it's the lightweight players who need a boot up the Arris!!! Mills will turn things around if you lot don't boo him out.

I predicted 0-0 because I have no confidence that we are going to create chances and score goals. There was not much between the two sides but you always felt that Bradford would be the most likely team to score. Rankines late effort proved to be our best effort. But yet another home defeat and its very difficult to see where our next win is going to come from. The plain truth is that we just dont look strong enough. Both Bradford goals came from City errors, by Ingham and OConnell. This unfortunately sums up another miserable afternoon at Bootham Crescent.

Yet again a poor side comes to BC and takes all 3 points. Yet again Mills shows faith in the wrong players and plays a ridiculous system that a Sunday pub team could deal with. Poor Gary won't even be able to blame the fans as the support from the Longhurst was awesome today. Do us a favour Gary, **** off now before you well and truly shaft us.

I do hope Gary stays and at the end of the season blows out the players who he kept faith with, but let him and the supporters down.

Stick with Mills-the players need to man up.Tom Platt scored again for Harrogate again today and it seems he knows where the net is as he,s found it quite a few times this season. Perhaps we ought to give him a chance. Shame for O,Connel but it didn't,t matter too much as we were 1-0 down and didn't,t look like equalising.we need goals badly to get points but I still think we will stay up. I could see why the ref. D,urso got relegated from the Premier as he was poor.

Our top scorer finds the back off the net, 11 for the season? oh **** he plays for harrogate on loan, why do we not play Tom Platt, at least he knows where the goal is, anything is better than walker, he was crap again today, falling over like a fairy at every opportunity and playing too deep on the left hand side, not very affective at all, so when we did break he was not there? Not good enough Gary, at least you cant say it was a massive point today, bradford was there for the taking and we throw it away. At least a few more games left in the league??

Haven't won in 11 games because Mills is so predictable! Always sets the team up for his "massive draws" and when we go 1-0 down there's no way back! Mills only has one tactic and other teams must love playing us! Mills won't or can't change and our strongest forward left warming the bench once again! Predictable!
Time for Mills to go I'm afraid! It's getting embarrassing now!

If the bottom teams all pick up the same amount of points in the next 10 games as the last 10 we WILL be relegated along with Torquay. Will people now realise that something has to change, if the manager can not or will not he has to go...

If we keep setting up not to get beaten then we will AT BEST draw, we need to looking for 48pts + this season and that means winning a couple of games, we won't draw another 8, that means a change of approach, Gary... can you? will you?

"We were fantastic, played brilliant. Absolutely outclassed Bradford. A massive no pointer. The point that they scored more goals shouldn't matter! We was the best side"
I can hear GM saying things like that. Gary's problem is that he looks through the wrong end of the telescope. When he met the gipsy fortune-teller last summer, she told him "York won't be in League 2 in 2013/14!" That's when Gary predicted back-to-back promotions.
But there's more than one interpretation, Gary.
You should have bought a bit of her lucky heather.
And shoved it where the sun don't shine.

Yep lets bring Platt back, so he can warm the bench with our strongest forward Ranks! Mills is a one trick pony im afraid and can't see what we see with Walker's failings.

For all you lot calling for the young untried Tom platt he is playing in a rubbish league, mills has lost the plot has no one mentioned 433 isn't working??! I still would keep him and sack all these useless players who have the privilege of wearing the red shirt, I have to say I'm city till I die but some of you need to chill, more important things to worry about than a 90 minute game of football

If we keep playing the way we did today there won't be a problem as the goals will come. The majority of supporters clapped the team off today. The points will come as we pick off the teams below us. Excellent support from the Longhurst - keep the faith!
