Darts: Terry Temple reaches last-64 of UK Open

TERRY TEMPLE reached the last-64 of this year’s first Speedy Hire Services UK Open qualifier at Crawley.

The Whitwell-on-the-Hill arrows ace beat Ryan De Vreede (6-4) and Lee Gregory (6-0) at the K2 Centre before bowing out 6-4 to Kevin Dowling in the third round.

Temple had earlier missed out on a chance to qualify for next week’s UK Masters after losing 6-3 in the preliminary round to Mike Norton.

York’s Martyn Turner progressed past Ryan Harrington 6-2 in the first UK Open qualifier, but was then knocked out 6-4 by Mark Cox.

In the second UK Open qualifier at Crawley, Temple went out in the second round to Nigel Birch 6-5, having defeated Dylan Duo 6-2.

Turner went out 6-5 to Andrew Gilding in the first round.
