Bowls: Walker and Clayton plot Victory march

YORK’S Helen Walker rallied to get over the disappointment of losing in the National Ladies fours quarter-final at Melton Indoor Bowls Club, where her team lost 14-13 to Norfolk after dropping a single on their last end.
Walker and June Clayton beat Hartlepool 22-11 to qualify for the national finals of the Over-60s pairs to be staged at Nottingham, where they will play Victory IBC from Portsmouth on April 3.
Graham Brooke exited 21-14 in the last 32 stage of the National O60s’ men’s finals at Melton IBC.
