Bowls: Two-wood triples campaign ends against Barwell

Helen Walker, Linda Parker and Sue Kirkpatrick were disappointed to go out of the National two-wood triples competition at the last 16.
They were in contention at 11-9 down with ten ends gone, but could not close the gap and eventually lost 21-12 to Barwell.
Walker will have another chance for a national title as her fours team comprising Helen Wood, Parker and Zoe Eagles take on Angel (Tonbridge) tomorrow afternoon.
Walker and Eagles will appear again in the pairs finals a week today against The Parks (North Shields).
David Attwood missed out on three area final successes after he and Paul Humphreys lost in the pairs final to Hornsea’s Dave Tooley’s side 25-15.
