A SUPERB full set of victories was recorded by North Yorkshire sides in the Northern Counties East League.

Tadcaster Albion, Pickering Town and Scarborough Athletic all bagged three points in the premier division, and there were division one successes for Selby Town and Knaresborough Town.

Pickering edged up to seventh in the top flight table with a 2-0 home win over Maltby Main, with Liam Shepherd scoring two minutes from the break and Steve Baxter netting two minutes from time.

Fifth-placed Tadcaster were 4-0 home winners over Staveley Miners Welfare, having led 3-0 at the interval at Ings Lane.

Albion took the lead through Terry Taylor in the 18th minute, Nick Thompson added a second eight minutes later and George Bissett made it 3-0 on 42 minutes.

Thompson put the seal on the victory with the fourth on 70 minutes.

Scarborough’s 7-1 win at home to Long Eaton, which keeps them top, included goals from Ryan Blott (2), Jimmy Beadle (2), Robbie Hawkes, David Brown and an own goal.

Selby stepped up their bid for a great escape at the foot of division one with a 4-0 triumph at Hallam.

Jack Wooley put the Robins on the road to victory with a 13th minute opener and Danny Gray got a second on 25 minutes.

Wooley’s second on 66 minutes put the game beyond the hosts and, three minutes later, Sean Dickinson made it four.

Knaresborough hit back from a goal down to win 4-1 at Askern Villa, thanks to a hat-trick from Steve Bromley and an effort by former Selby striker Craig Heard.

Tenth-placed Harrogate Town toppled sixth-placed Worcester 3-1 in Blue Square Bet North at Wetherby Road.

All the Town goals came in the first half, with Paul Beesley scoring twice either side of a Chib Chilaka strike, while the visitors pulled a goal back four minutes from time.

Harrogate Railway Athletic crashed 4-0 at Ramsbottom United in Evo-Stik League division one north.

The goals came from Jon Robinson, Philip Dean (2) and Anthony Johnson.
