Three amigos put up valiant fight for KP Texas title

KP Golf’s Texas Scramble was contested by 18 four-player teams who braved withering wintry conditions.
A creditable final points total of 53.7 earned the top prize for M Stericker, K Cliff, R Ford and T Loten, but it was the team of captain Paul Weaver, vice-captain Eric Sologub and Danny George who shone.
They only had three players but put up a fine performance marred only at the 16th tee with a brace of drives going out of bounds and the third drive declared a lost ball.
Meanwhile, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance – the 2012 charity of captains Steve Danby and Mary Bryan – was presented with a cheque for £934.70p.
