Needing only five points to guarantee a semi-final place in the EIBA Over-60s Liberty Trophy, Yorkshire swept aside any threat from their nearest rivals Durham with ease.
They posted a winning margin of 124-106 and also collected 20 points out of the available 24.
The home leg was played at Featherstone IBC and saw Dave Colebourne’s team scoring 11 shots between the fifth and tenth ends to lead 17-4 on their way to a 28-12 victory.
Tony Horobin’s side did not manage to score over the last six ends but they had already done enough to win 19-16. The only losing rink came from that led by Eddie Kilgallon. They went from 20-18 down with three ends to play to lose 25-19.
The away leg was played at Darlington IBC and saw the team led by Graham Brooke pull away from the tenth end where they led 9-8.
Eight ends later, they surged 22-10 up en route to confirming a 22-14 win.
John Whiteley’s side achieved a memorable comeback. Down 18-10 with three ends to play, they won 19-18, though Alan Jones’ lost 21-17.
Yorkshire will next play Lincolnshire, who they recently beat in the Midland Counties League, at a date still to be arranged.
