Bowls: York lose out to Yetton Trophy holders Lincoln

ILLNESS-HIT York Indoor Bowls Club put up a fight before bowing out of the Yetton Trophy to holders Lincoln, losing their quarter-final tie 71-63.
The away rinks produced amazing results, with Helen Walker’s team coming from 8-4 down to beat Penny Strong’s side 16-12 and Linda Harrison’s leading from the fifth end and hanging on to win 19-18.
At home, Melanie Brooke’s team were 8-0 down after five ends and, although they levelled by the tenth end, they lost 20-16.
The rink led by Sue Kirkpatrick, above, trailed 13-11 with five ends to play, but lost 21-12.
