Entires open for Spring Pro-Am tournament
10:39am Saturday 2nd February 2013 in Sport
Entries are now being taken for one of the area’s most popular pro-am competitions.
The Oaks Golf Club, out at Aughton, is holding its Spring Pro-Am tournament on Friday, May 17 when the minimum pro prize money will be £1,000.
The day also includes an event for teams, to which a professional player is attached for the 18 holes of golf.
Each team comprises three amateurs and one pro with the best two from four rounds to count.
Among previous pro winners are former European Tour player Graham Walker, who now runs his thriving academy at The Oaks, and Darren Leng, who tied for the pro title in 2005 and was then part of last year’s winning team, which also featured Jim Wraith, Phil Woodall and Mike Kirby.
