FIVE dual-registration players have been made available to York City Knights coach Gary Thornton for Sunday’s Championship opener at Whitehaven.
Hull, who take on Leeds Rhinos in Super League tonight, have offered the Knights the services of winger Jack Briscoe, winger Tom Lineham, prop Josh Bowden, back-rower Dean Hadley and half-back Danny Nicklas.
The KC Stadium contingent trained at Huntington Stadium last night, but Thornton was keeping his cards close to his chest on the final selection for Sunday.
“We have been having a look at them to see how they integrate into the squad before deciding whether they would be included on Sunday or not,” said Thornton.
Hooker Jack Lee has been declared fit after a shoulder problem, but Luke Stenchion is definitely out with an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, winger Lee Nobbs is returning to amateur club Skirlaugh after missing out on a Knights contract.
Thornton said: “I couldn’t offer him a guaranteed shirt, especially with the links we have with Hull.”
