YORK City Knights young gun Tim Stubbs returns to action this afternoon for the first time since keyhole surgery on a knee.

The teenager, who is on the Knights’ first-team books but will generally continue his development through their under-20s, is in the York College rugby league team that entertains Wilberforce College in the Yorkshire Conference One student league at their Sim Balk Lane pitch (kick off 2pm).

Stubbs, a York Acorn ARLC product, has not played since the college’s last game in December, prior to the Christmas break and a succession of postponements.

Fellow Knights U20s starlets Greg Minikin and James Morland are also in the line-up for a York College team who top the table after six wins in seven outings.
