YORK City are hoping 2013 will be a roaring success and what better way to follow the team’s progress than with a Yorkie the Lion calendar.

The Minstermen’s cuddly mascot has made his own calendar, featuring the leonine favourite in a number of funny poses.

With the year still in its infancy, City fans can pencil in all those important dates between now and the end of the season with calendars, signed by the players, still available for only £5 from the York City in the Community office.

Proceeds from sales will also go towards SNAPPY – the club’s official charity partner for the 2012/13 season.

SNAPPY, which stands for Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York, provides social and recreational opportunities for locally-based children and young people with special needs aged between five and 25.

Some of the free sessions SNAPPY stage include playing and learning with musical instruments, dressing up and performing, getting active and playing outside, cooking and arts and crafts, while they also organise various trips.

SNAPPY rely on volunteers to deliver their services, with most running through school holidays, at weekends or during evenings.

Anybody interested in getting involved with the charity in that capacity who is over the age of 16, should phone 01904 640562 or email snappyvolunteers@btconnect.com
