YORK-BORN golfer Simon Dyson closed out the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters with a one under par round of 71.

That took him to two under for the tournament at the Doha Golf Club, leaving him in a three-way tie for 64th place.

The 35-year-old Malton & Norton Golf Club star bogeyed the par three eighth hole, but clawed back two shots in the next two holes, both par fives.

A bogey five at the 15th was quickly rectified with a birdie on the par four 16th as he added a 71 to his opening three rounds of 71, 72 and 72.

The tournament was won by England’s Chris Wood, who grabbed his first European Tour title with a closing eagle.

The 25-year-old from Bristol arrived at the par-five last one behind Spanish star Sergio Garcia and South African George Coetzee.
