Stewart bonus as Tadcaster Albion face another blank weekend

TADCASTER ALBION are expecting to have a free weekend.
Brewers boss Paul Marshall reckons the club’s Northern Counties East League premier division clash at Retford United is unlikely to beat the weather, which has restricted the team’s training schedule over the past week.
“We train at the University of York on the 4G pitch and even that has been closed,” he said.
“We were unable to train on it on Wednesday night as well so we trained at Tadcaster in the snow and did some boxercise in the clubhouse.
“Quite a few of the lads go to the gym but it is not as good as having a run.”
Postponement would mean another match where striker Carl Stewart was likely to be available.
The free-scoring forward, who recently left NCEL premier division Bridlington Town, can only play for Tadcaster in midweek matches as he is contracted to Evo-Stik League division one north side Ossett Albion on weekends.
Marshall added: “Unless Ossett are playing he will be available.
“He is still keen to keep ties with us and play as many games as he can for us.”
Stewart could be the only absentee, with Marshall otherwise having a full side to select from, should tomorrow’s game take place.
Harrogate Town are due to travel to Solihull Moors in Blue Square Bet North while, Salford City, minus new York City signing Jameel Ible, entertain Harrogate Railway in Evo-Stik League division one north.
