Simon Dyson set for Qatar Masters

YORK-BORN Simon Dyson is aiming to hit the sweetest notes in Qatar tomorrow fresh from his opening tournament of the European Tour campaign.

After negotiating his first foray of 2013 with a tie for 52nd spot in the Abu Dhabi Championship, in which he showed a steady improvement, Dyson tackles the $2.5 million Qatar Masters in good heart.

Even though his world ranking dropped two places to 73rd after his Abu Dhabi display, the fact he countered strongly from an opening day three-over-par will have buoyed the Malton & Norton Golf Club star.

Tomorrow he will open his Qatar assault on hole ten alongside 43-year-old Ricardo Gonzalez and Sweden’s Fredrik Andersson Hed, who is rated 97th in the world.
