FIVE Lions had Lynn Thompson closing on 91 treble, 19 double, 17 and colleague Dawn Exton gaming 23 as they were prevented from a clean sweep in the singles at York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League opponents Flag.
Chris Hedley, plus sisters Sarah Jackson and Jane Dobson, doubled their tally as they flopped 7-2 to the visitors.
Natalie Farmeary, Lynne Clapham, Tracey Farmeary and Sue Turpin gave Cueball ‘B’ a sound start against their ‘A’ team, whose Faye Hawksby and Joan Hunter replied.
Farmeary and Harton, the ‘B’ team captain and vice-captain, combined to secure victory.
Sandra Bruce (140), Denise Fowler, Flossy Crampton and Wendy Shortle gave Magnet a great start at Walnut who, despite being a player light, responded through Di Moreland and Babs Harrison.
Moreland was joined by Becky Thompson as they narrowed the gap. However, Fowler combined with her captain Tracey Watkinson to seal victory.
In division two, Severus ‘B’ and visitors Acomb ‘A’ were tied 3-3 entering the pairs, where the club side made home advantage count with a clean sweep for a 6-3 result.
Bootham Club increased their lead at the top as Jane Barnes and Jackie Clemit guided them to a 6-3 win against Burton WMC, whose captain Linda Embleton and Sandra Pallister hit the tons.
Second-placed Edinburgh lost by the same margin at Clifton for whom Michelle Brierley and Karen Hodgson scored well.
Division three leaders Jubilee took home an 8-1 win from neighbours Leeman, whose Janet Nelson was their only success. Brenda Dawe and Julie Oliver were the top-scorers for Jubilee.
