Nothing at all odd about Brodie decision: we play a different style, we can't afford his wages and there were off-field problems before he left, all of which caused GM concern. In the event, Brodie chose to sign for someone else, so good luck to him. We didn't get promoted when Brodie played for us and, in all honesty, you can't say he played well in either of the Wembley finals he played in. He had a couple of good seasons for us, which we are all grateful for but has everyone forgotten the abuse and ridicule he was subject to when he first joined us? Let's all give the new man a chance and see how he plays.

Lets assume Mr Mills has a lot of contacts in the game...Everson was recommended to Mills...Mills invites him to train with the squad and thinks he is worth a short term contract.

I'm not sure if it was a case of GM "pondering" the decision or balancing risks before making a decision - he has to do what, in his opinion, is right for the club. From what you say, if GM had been 100% on Brodie, he'd have signed him. Clearly, then, there were other factors to take into account. I had understood that wages were a consideration but am happy to be put right on this. Of course, there is no guarantee that if he had signed Brodie he'd have played him!

With respect, in my playing days i have never known anyone who wants to play second fiddle,if you do you have no ambition ,and shouldnt be there.

Mills never signs good players? What about Jason Walker, Matty Blair and Ashley Chambers, Paddy McLaughlin, Jon Challinor and Lanre Oyebanjo. All in one summer! At our level, every signing is a risk when you’re looking for the next Tony Canham, Andy McMillan, Martyn Woolford or Wayne Hall.
