First published in Sport

CITY of York ladies I are eighth in the North Hockey League premier division after a 3-2 home defeat by Whitley Bay and Tynemouth II.

The reverse, which saw the visitors edge above them in the table, was York’s sixth loss in 11 league games this season.

In the Yorkshire League premier division, mid-table City of York II drew 2-2 at third-placed Wakefield III.

City of York III remain joint top of division three alongside Halifax II. York were 2-1 victors at home to Slazengers II, while Halifax won 3-2 against Canalside Terriers I.

A 5-1 triumph at Slazengers III kept City of York IV in the promotion places in division five, while the fifth drew 3-3 at Leeds IV in division six Yorkshire.
