IN-FORM York Indoor Bowls Club made light work of their potentially difficult Yetton Trophy tie against Hartlepool winning 105-46 after the game was conceded with seven ends still to play.
At home, Maureen Thomas’ team had a superb 37-7 victory in which they lost only three ends.
Melanie Brooke’s team were also in a ruthless mode, conceding just five ends while leading from the start to their victorious 30-12 finish.
Away, Linda Harrison’s team got off to a good start, leading 12-2 after seven ends. They were pegged back briefly to 12-8 before pulling away again to lead 24-9. The tie was conceded after 19 ends when the score stood at 24-12.
Helen Walker’s side trailed 12-4 after seven ends, but countered strongly and were in the ascendancy when the game came to a halt three ends early with a 17-14 score line to the hosts.
York now play South Shields in the last 16 a week today on a home and away basis, the games all starting at 12.30pm.
